BA Film & Theatre

Description:
This degree programme is innovative in the way it combines the study of film and theatre and in the way it integrates practical work with critical study. The combination of film & theatre is not widely available in universities in Britain.

Course Structure:
In your first year, you follow a core course that gives a foundation in critical and historical approaches to the study of film and theatre. Single honours students also undertake a strand of practical work in film & theatre.

In the second year you follow three core modules (US Cinema, British Theatre and Alternative Forms in Film & Theatre) and a practical option or independent project. In your final year, you take two critical options and either write a dissertation or direct a short, independent theatre production or film. This programme may be followed without practical work after the first year.
