BA English Literature and European Literature and Culture

Description:
This programme will enable you to cultivate reading across linguistic boundaries in order to highlight everything that the exclusive focus on a national literature tends to obscure. In each year, you will take modules from English as well as core modules on European Literature and Culture such as Society, Thought and Art in Modern Europe. There is also an exciting range of optional modules both within and outside the department to choose from. These modules will unfold not only the fascinating transformations and travels of literary genres and texts across time and space, but also the intersections of European literature with other cultural forms such as film, drama, the visual arts, music and new media.
