Language is at the heart of human life. An ever-changing medium of communication, its study is crucial to our understanding of ourselves as members of society, as individuals, and as a species. At Reading we offer you the opportunity to study the first two aspects of this complex form of human behaviour in depth, with the additional option of being able to focus on the area of English Language Teaching (ELT), an internationally-acknowledged strength in our Department.

Entry Requirements

UCAS Tariff: BBB/ABC from three A level subjects. Total points exclude Key Skills and General Studies. The total must include grade B at A Level English Language, English Literature or English Language and Literature.
International Baccalaureate: Pass Diploma and achieve 6,5,5 in three higher level subjects including English Language/Literature or combined
