Receiving an offer for a Postgraduate Degree

Once you have completed your application, you will receive a decision from the relevant Faculty Office. If you have been successful in your application, you will receive an offer letter. This will give details of any conditions that you need to meet.

What to do next

  • Read your offer carefully
  • Check the conditions of your offer:
    - Academic
    - Financial
    - English Language

  • Reply to your offer letter as soon as possible

  • Send the result of your English language test as soon as possible (if applicable) and let the University know as and when you meet your conditions

  • If you have a sponsor, confirm with them that the course is acceptable to them and ensure that you have sent the University confirmation that they will support you, including details of the value and duration of the award
  • At the bottom of the offer of admission, there is a date by which all information must reach us. Please make sure you provide us with all the information we need by that date
  • You will receive instructions on how to submit an on-line application for accommodation with your academic offer from the Admissions Office
  • Once you have met all of the conditions of your offer, the Admissions Office will inform you that your offer is unconditional and will send you instructions on how to obtain a CAS number which you will require in order to apply for a Tier 4 student visa
  • We will allocate hall accommodation (unless there are special circumstances, this is done on a 'first-come-first-served' basis)
