Student Numbers

We have around 70 Taiwanese students studying each year at the University of Reading. They are following a number of different courses at all levels including undergraduate, taught postgraduates and research postgraduates. We also have a number of students on other courses at Reading including preparation courses and non-degree level courses.

Students from Taiwan make up 0.6% of our full-time student population and 4% of our international student population.

Societies

Alongside a wide range of interest based societies, there are several international student societies within Reading University Students' Union (RUSU). You can find out more about the societies here.

Entry Requirements

All undergraduate applications must be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). The UCAS code name and number for this University is READG R12.

International Foundation Programme

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) at the University of Reading is an intensive, one-year access course with a long established reputation for academic excellence and student support.
The course has been especially designed for international students without British A level qualifications or the equivalent.

The IFP will provide you with the academic training, language and study skills to start your undergraduate studies with knowledge and confidence and will prepare you for undergraduate study in three ways:

  • by providing academic training in three subjects
  • by developing your English language abilities
  • by enabling you to acquire the study and life skills which you will need on your degree programme.

We offer courses that will help prepare you for study in the UK, including English language as well as study skills to help your prepare for our degree programmes.

Scholarships

The University offers £4M worth of scholarships each year in addition to national programmes from both the British government and Taiwanese government.
