Profile: Yazeed Al Ghuraibi

What attracted you to the University of Reading?

The main thing that attracted me to the University of Reading was the big campus and the huge landscape, as well as the landscape and the huge campus, the University of Reading has a great reputation for their academic courses. The most enjoyable thing is that there are a lot of international students from all the world and you can learn about their culture and they can learn about yours.

What I like about Reading, that it is a small town between London and Oxford, there are a lot of international students. Reading has a great mall called Oracle, you can go there to relax or to have a nice meal or just to watch a good movie. As well as that, Reading is nice place to study, you can easily travel to London via trains and it is a 20 minute journey too, which makes it easy to go to London and return on the same day.

Have you experienced any difficulties?

One of the difficulties that I had in Reading is homesickness, which I think in some way or another will get into you, but you should think that you are here to get a great education from a great university. Living in the halls made it easy for me to get over the homesickness, because you can find your friends hanging around or studying together, which that will help to distract you from the issue that you've been thinking about. Also, there is a big chance that you will meet other guys from your own home country in the hall residence.

Have you got any advice for future students?

It is a great chance that the Saudi Government are giving scholarships to great universities such as the University of Reading, so you must take the full advantage of it. It was a great experience for me to study in University of Reading and I enjoyed my time there.

What do you plan to do after you complete this course?

After I finish from the IFP (International Foundation Program) I hope to get a degree in Consumer Behaviour and Marketing.
