What attracted you to the University of Reading?
Reading University has been seen to be one of the top ranking universities in Research in the whole of the UK and this is what initially attracted to joining this University. My passion for sciences, along with my desire to help others, formed the two main reasons why my degree of choice was Pharmacy. The Master of Pharmacy program has been designed to be more of a hands-on and problem-based learning course which has truly enabled me to get a feel of what kind of practical service I will be offering when I graduate and begin to work. Reading University has a large International community and this makes studying at Reading that much more exciting, with opportunities to meet people from other cultures and backgrounds and be able to absorb what their cultures have to offer.
What do you enjoy most about living in Reading itself?
Reading is a vibrant city with a lot of history, it is also a very central town with direct connections with many other cities by train and bus services. Its town centre offers an amazing shopping experience for those shopping junkies like myself! And the nightlife is always buzzing!
Have you experienced any difficulties?
Like some other students I faced some difficulty when it came to meeting people outside my course and halls. I was able to overcome this by joining some of the many societies that are run by students within the university.
Have you got any advice for future students? What activities would you recommend to others?
The International students' society (ISRU) is a great society to join on entry to the university as it offers support for all International Students as well as integrating them with local students through joint events, such as those run with the English society.
