Reading is No 1 for Learning
International students at the University of Reading have shown record levels of satisfaction with the learning experience. In a survey conducted in the 2007/8 academic year by the independent education research company, i-graduate, Reading came first for the learning experience in an international benchmark. The survey is called the International Student Barometer (ISB) and it is the largest survey of the international student experience in the world with more than 250,000 international students surveyed since 2005.
In this academic year, international students at Reading placed the learning experience at the University of Reading ahead of Oxford, Cambridge and Yale in a benchmark of 84 institutions.
Individual learning elements rated in 1st place were:
- Academic course content
- Lecturers who are good teachers
- Level of research activity
- Advice on long term careers and job opportunities from academic staff
