MSc Food Technology - Quality Assurance

Full-time 12 months

The aim of this programme is to promote knowledge and competence in the principles of quality assurance and quality management systems as they are applied in the food industry. It will also cover the chemical, biological and physical principles that underlie food processing and storage, and which are essential for effective quality management.

Programme Content

Six modules are taken during each of the first two terms covering topics in: Food Chemistry, Food Processing, Food Microbiology, Quality Assurance, Food Legislation, Sensory Analysis and Hazard Control, including laboratory work to assess the chemical and microbiological quality of foods. These modules are followed by a extended practical project or dissertation.

Entry Requirements :

At least a second class Honours degree in a pure or applied science, or an equivalent qualification.
