MSc Food Science

Full-time 12 months

Through this programme you will expand your knowledge of the science that underpins the food industry and develop skills that will be applicable in an industrial or research environment.

Programme Content

Six modules are taken during each of the first two terms covering topics in: Food Chemistry, Food Processing, Food Microbiology, Human Nutrition, Sensory Analysis and Hazard Control, including laboratory work to assess the chemical and microbiological quality of foods. These modules are followed by an extended practical project or dissertation.

Entry Requirements :

The programme is designed for pure or applied science graduates looking for a career in the food industry. At least a second class honours degree in a pure or applied science or an equivalent qualification.
