This degree is a new and innovative course offered in partnership with the department of Mathematics. It will provide students with the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to price and trade different types of derivatives and demonstrate their understanding of market equities, foreign trade and credit risk.

Demand for well qualified graduates in this area is high, and greatly exceeds supply. The quantitative skills that will be developed such as the knowledge of derivatives pricing tools and methods, and the use of programming languages like C++ and VBA, are very much sought after in the financial industry. We have very strong links with the quantitative finance profession mainly through the research and other activities of our faculty members, and the ICMA Centre has built a reputation for being the quality oriented top ranked University in the UK for research in quantitative finance.

Entry Requirements :

You should hold or expect to hold a good 2.1 Honours degree or the equivalent international qualification. A wide range of degree disciplines is considered but applicants must have an existing level of numeracy.

GMAT can enhance an application and is strongly recommended if an applicant has been out of education for more than a few years.
