Cybernetics is a modern interdisciplinary subject reflecting many of the interests of a high technology society. The MSc in Cybernetics provides the analytical and practical skills to apply concepts of cybernetics in a variety of professional environments such as control, medicine and the study of intelligence. The programme covers both technological and biological aspects of the subject. This is a modular course with 120 credits in taught modules and a 60 credit research dissertation. Taught modules are chosen from a list of 20 options. Modules include biological cybernetics, biomedical instrumentation, robotics, neural networks, bionics, terahertz technologies, biomechanics, advanced control and signal processing. The course is suitable both as a conversion course for those new to the area, and also as a specialist course for those who already have some background in Cybernetics.
