MSc Construction Management
Duration
Full-time 12 months
The aim of the programme is to take an international perspective and give the student a grounding in the fundamentals of financing, organising and managing construction projects. Students on the programme come from a variety of backgrounds including civil engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, services engineering and many other disciplines.
Managing a construction project from design right through to occupation requires a wide range of skills and involves many people. Clients have become more demanding, the regulatory framework has become more complex, technology plays an increasingly important role, and financial engineering skills are required. The programme therefore aims to develop an awareness of the changing responsibilities and regulatory framework in which construction projects must be delivered safely, on time, on budget and to the highest possible quality, while taking environmental considerations into account.
