The programme seeks to train you in the application of statistics in the life sciences so that you may successfully carry out the role of professional statisticians in the areas of ecology, biology, medicine and drug development. The programme has been accredited by the Royal Statistical Society.

Programme Content :

There are core modules in: Data Analysis, Sampling Methods, Multivariate Analysis, Practical Bayesian Data Analysis, Linear Models, Study Design, Generalised Linear Models, Modelling Structured Data and Statistical Computing. In addition there is a range of applied modules in Clinical Trials; Time to Event Analysis; Statistical Genetics; Epidemiology& Public Health. One third of the assessment is based on an individual project undertaken during the summer, often in collaboration with external researchers.
