Established more than 40 years ago, we continue to enjoy an established reputation as one of the world's premier centres for teach- ing and research in international business. In line with the ever- changing global economic environ- ment, our focuses and strengths have continued to evolve. The most common sectors our graduates enter are banking, accountancy and taxation, business/management consultancy, UK and overseas governments and international agencies. Recent graduate destinations range from KMPG, Deloitte and PwC to BP, Shell and Burren Energy, from Citi Group, RBS and Barclays to the Overseas Development Institute, the UK Home Office and the Bank of England.
Funding opportunities
A range of Department and University-wide sources of funding may be available for postgraduate taught courses.
All PhD applications are automatically considered for a research scholarship, which pays fees in full for one year, and is renewable for the remainder of your studies subject to progress.
Research expertise
Research, both within the Department and at the University of Reading, is at the heart of everything we do. Our current expertise spans areas ranging from econometrics to macroeconomics, banking and finance to development economics and from emerging markets to spa- tial and housing economics. We are home to around 25 full- time academic staff, spanning six leading research centres, the majority of whom are widely pub- lished and research-active experts in their respective areas. Our staff also undertake funded research projects and provide consultancy services to multinational organisa- tions, governments and interna- tional agencies.
