Welcome to Reading University Pistol and Rifle Club

We are a friendly club run by a close-knit committee who aim to put the enjoyment into shooting. Every year we welcome and train a variety of shooters from absolute beginners to the very experienced. Our main disciplines are gallery and target rifles however; in the past we’ve had the chance to shoot other firearms such as black powder pistols and sniper rifles.

We shoot every Wednesday at Bisley Shooting Centre and concentrate on .22 target rifles during the winter months (as the range is indoors!) and 7.62 target rifles during the summer months. We also shoot gallery rifles at intervals throughout the year.

To help focus our training we often compete against other Universities and participate in postal competitions. In the summer most of our members compete in the annual Imperial Meeting at Bisley; a world renown international shooting competition.
