The Centre for Cardiovascular Imaging
An invaluable resource for biomedical students and researchers, the Centre for Cardiovascular Imaging exists to support our research. The Centre incorporates a human imaging facilities and advanced microscopic suites purpose-built for biomedical research.
The Cole Museum of Zoology
Home to 3,500 specimens and research facilities, the Cole Museum of Zoology is resource for biological researchers, a destination for the public and host to outreach programmes with local schools.
The Harris Garden
A beautiful botanic garden containing water features, wildlife, various landscapes and innumerable species of plant life, the Harris Garden is a wonderful place for both study and relaxation.
One of the largest and most diverse collections in the country, the Herbarium at Reading is visited by plant scientists from around the world and students from the School of Biological Sciences.
The School of Biological Sciences has recently completed a new set of laboratories, purpose-built for teaching and research. There are facilities here ideal for every different discipline within the biological sciences.
The University maintains commercial farms in Sonning, Arborfield and Shinfield. These farms allow us to conduct biological and agricultural research in the field, and give students excellent experience of the industry.
The School of Biological Sciences is located on the beautiful Whiteknights Campus, a seven-time winner of the Green Flag Award. Over 300 acres of woodlands, lakes, gardens and meadows provide an inspiring and useful environment for biological scientists.
Health and Life Sciences building
Following approval from Reading and Wokingham councils, we are in the process of planning a new Health and Life Sciences building. A five storey building purpose-built for teaching and research, the new building will enhance our already impressive biological sciences lab facilities.
