POST AWARD SUPPORT FOR RESEARCH GRANTS

Once a grant or contract has been awarded, the RES and the Research Accounts Team in Finance will provide support for award acceptance and project set up and also with getting any contracts required for the project in place.

AWARD ACCEPTANCE AND SET UP

Once you have been notified that an application has been successful, please let Becky Mann in Research and Enterprise Services know so that we can start the post award processes.

Some funders have specific acceptance procedures for grants:

For research council awards, RES will be notified directly by the Research Councils via Je-S and will contact PIs of the awards about the offer acceptance and to confirm likely start dates.

For British Academy and Royal Society, the PI is notified first of their success and they have to accept the offer on the online system. After this, the Institution has to accept the award as well. This all has to be done before the deadline set by the funder and so the PI should do their acceptance as soon as possible to avoid the Institution not being able to accept in time.

All other funders will have some form of acceptance process but please contact Becky Mann in RES who will advise.

Once we have accepted the award, we will set up an award record on our grants and contracts database and this will then be submitted to the Research Accounts team in Finance for approval of the award which will then generate a project number in the post award finance system.
