International Students

By studying at the University of Reading, you will become part of a vibrant international community of more than 4000 international students from over 140 countries.

Our award-winning Whiteknights campus is set in 130 hectares of beautiful parkland. It's the perfect place for you to make a home away from home in the UK, and achieve your academic and career goals. The campus is just 30 minutes from London by train, and 40 minutes from London Heathrow Airport by bus.

Scholarships and funding

Every year, the School offers up to three International Excellence Scholarships of £4000 each, to undergraduates.

The University also offers a number of international and commonwealth scholarships. For more information on undergraduate funding, visit our student finance pages.

All applicants whose fee status is Overseas (and who therefore pay higher fees), and have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer are eligible to apply for one of our International Excellence Scholarships.

To apply, simply submit a well-reasoned case for support, of no more than 400 words, and send it to ug-pcls@reading.ac.uk before the closing date of 20 July 2018.

There is no template for your case. It may include details of your academic performance to date, your extra-curricular activities, your intellectual ambitions, your broad career goals, and something about what difference the funding will make for you personally. Please ensure your responses are written in English.

International Foundation Programme

The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is an intensive access course designed for international students. The IFP gives you the academic training, language and study skills to start undergraduate studies in our School, and offers subject specific scholarships worth £7000.
