All our courses are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). They provide graduates with the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, which is the starting point of a career as a psychologist in the UK.

BSc Psychology

Build an understanding of psychology as a modern, experimental science.

Learn the core areas required for BPS accreditation, including cognition, neuroscience, development, personality and social psychology.

BSc Psychology with Professional Placement

Gain valuable clinical experience and develop professional skills with the BSc Psychology with Professional Placement.

You'll study the core areas required for BPS accreditation, which enables you to choose to take further training to become a clinical psychologist.

BSc Psychology and Language Sciences

Get a BPS-accredited psychology degree while discovering how language is acquired and used, and how developmental and acquired language disorders can be understood and treated.

This course will give you an excellent grounding in psychology, linguistics and research methods.

BSc Psychology with Neuroscience

Learn about the structure and functions of the human brain and develop a solid grounding in neuroscience.

Neuroscience modules are taught by staff from the internationally renowned Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics. They are regularly revised to incorporate the latest developments.

BSc Psychology with Foundation

This four-year course includes a foundation year leading directly into the BSc Psychology course. It's an excellent route to a degree if you don't have the typical entry requirements.

In the first year you'll complete two psychology focused modules, a module in academic skills and a selection of optional modules taught across the University.

BSc Psychology with International Foundation Year

This course is specifically designed for international students who want to study psychology at a British university but don’t have the correct qualifications.

Our four-year BSc Psychology with International Foundation Year programme enables you to undertake an undergraduate psychology degree. The foundation year is designed to equip you with the subject-specific and general study skills you'll need.

MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical)

This four-year integrated master's degree is taught in conjunction with the Charlie Waller Institute. It integrates BSc Psychology modules with a Graduate Certificate in Evidence-based Psychological Treatments (IAPT Pathway).

During your third year, you'll train as a psychological wellbeing practitioner (PWP) in the NHS, which involves direct clinical contact with patients. This allows you to undertake this role straight after you graduate.

Joint courses with Psychology

Explore the areas that interest you through a British Psychological Society-accredited joint degree in either art or philosophy.

You’ll study the core modules from both degree programmes allowing you to study the two subjects in depth.

BA Psychology and Philosophy

Develop critical thinking skills and challenge your own and others' ideas with this long-standing joint degree with philosophy.

Our students have gone into careers in the civil service, local government, journalism and politics.

BA Art and Psychology

Gain broad-based training in psychology and engage in substantial practical work in the studio. This joint degree allows you to develop your understanding of ideas and theories in art within the context of psychology.

It’s a foundation to a career in art therapy and opens doors to many other fascinating career opportunities.   

Study Abroad

Uniquely, students can choose to study abroad as part of their course at our University of Malaysia campus (UoRM), enabling even greater international collaboration and enhancing the teaching and learning experience for all.

Study abroad is available for students on the BSc Psychology and BSc Psychology with Professional Placement courses.

Your career

Psychology graduates can enter careers in the NHS, mental health services, the civil service, education, charities, human resources, management, consultancy, publicity, finance and journalism.

You could also pursue further training to become a professional psychologist.

95% of our leavers are in work and/or study 15 months after the end of their course (Higher Education Statistics Agency Graduate Outcomes, 2021).

Fees and funding

There is a variety of funding support available to our undergraduates. You may be eligible for government loans, grants or bursaries.

Students from the UK can receive government loans to help towards tuition fees and living costs. They may also be eligible for grants and bursaries depending on their circumstances.
