"Speech and Language Therapy is a growing field in healthcare that helps people with plethora of speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties to keep up in our fast-paced world where effective communication is an essential need. The prospect of working with a client, their loved ones and other healthcare professionals to ultimately help make a difference in their everyday lives is what drew me to study this course.

I chose to study at the University of Reading for multiple reasons. The modules in the programme are interesting and tailored to help students develop not just their theoretical knowledge but also several practical and clinical skills. Placement opportunities during the programme are plenty and the on-site Speech and Language Therapy clinic fosters the development of a good clinician. The University also has a lush green campus, excellent facilities (both academic and extra-curricular) and harbours students and staff from all over the world.

Never having been to the UK before, the transition to studying at university and moving to Reading has been surprisingly hassle-free and enjoyable. There were a wide number of support systems that helped me adjust and adapt to my new home for the next few years."

"Psychology is a very vast subject just like any other course. The key factor that drew me to do Bsc Psychology is that the overall subject helps to gain a better perspective of life. I chose to study at the University of Reading because of its well reputed nature and the diverse opportunities and facilities that they offer. Further the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences recently entered the top 150 in the world in the latest Times Higher Education world rankings which really gives the University of Reading that edge over other Universities. Although I am doing BSc Psychology I am doing optional modules in Management and Economics. Therefore, it allows me to broaden my knowledge.

Moving to the UK was challenging at first but as the other students and staff were so friendly and helpful I adjusted to a new setting quite fast. Everything is very well organized, structured and very student-friendly."
