Our research

Recognised as an internationally influential research institution, the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences has a long history of important discoveries in the field.

We have made particularly significant findings in the areas of child development and psychopathy. These and other successes are made possible by our three research groups, each dedicated to specific goals.

Research groups

Psychopathology and Affective Neuroscience

Using psychological and neuroscientific approaches, we are studying processes relevant to emotions. This is yielding benefits to people from infancy to old age.

Language, Development and Ageing

We are researching the ways that people acquire and process language as they go through life. This information can help to address societal and policy problems facing the modern world.

Perception, Cognition and Nutrition

The relationship between the health of the human brain and diet is the core of this research group. By making discoveries in this field, we can understand how environment, age and circumstance affect perception.
