Would you like to learn a new language? Or would you like to continue a language you started learning before coming to university?

The Institution-Wide Language Programme (IWLP) offers modules in 10 languages from beginner to intermediate level. You can take these alongside your degree if you are a student, or alongside work if you are a member of staff.

How to apply

Anyone who works or studies at the University is welcome to study a language with the IWLP. Modules can be taken as a credit module, or as a non-credit course for a fee.

Languages we teach

You can choose to learn Arabic, British Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Modern Greek, Russian or Spanish.
