Study Abroad with English

This programme is designed for students joining the Study Abroad Programme Europe( at the University of Reading, combining a programme of English Language study prior to the academic year with your formal Study Abroad programme of study.

The International Study and Language Institute (ISLI) has over 40 years' experience preparing international students for academic study in the UK. We are well integrated with various departments and Schools across campus and work closely with them to provide continuing support for those students whose first language is not English.

The English language entry requirement for the Study Abroad Programme is IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent), therefore students who need to improve their English language skills before joining the Study Abroad Programme may wish to apply for the Study Abroad with English Programme.

The full-time programme (20 contact hours per week) will focus on improving students' academic English skills across the four elements of reading, writing, speaking and listening. At the end of the programme, students will take the University of Reading's Test of English for Educational Purposes (TEEP), for which they will receive a certificate of proficiency. TEEP is recognised internationally for its value as a reputable test of English for study purposes.
