Position / Job Title:
IWLP French Coordinator (Teaching and Learning)

I have been a tutor on the IWLP French programme since 2006 and in 2014 was promoted to the Coordinator role. In this position I am Module convenor for Levels 1 to 6 of IWLP French and manage a team of 4 French tutors as well as teaching at several levels of IWLP French. I am responsible for overseeing all the IWLP French assessments, arranging moderation and liaising with our External Examiner.

e for Part 1s, and a module entitled An Introduction to Language teaching, which is aimed at both Erasmus students and Home students, where I am mentor to the French Erasmus student contingent.

Another aspect of my role is liaising with the Central Library, ordering resources for IWLP on a programme-wide basis in SACLL and the Library, and last year I organised the Enhancement week activities and the Languages Festival in conjunction with the SACLL Director.

I have been appointed External examiner for IWLP French at the University of Nottingham, as well as Nottingham (China) and Nottingham (Malaysia) for 3 years from 2015.

  • How to motivate and engage student learners, particularly non-specialist language learners
  • Technologically enhanced learning, particularly screencasts, Blackboard quizzes, Quizlet for vocabulary learning
  • Assessment and marking criteria

University Awards:

2012 won a Gold Star Award for teaching staff across all faculties and departments

2015 nominated for the Teaching Excellence Award for the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science.

Both of these nominations have been by students for teaching excellence.
