  • You must regitser to defer your graduation to Winter 2012 by Wednesday 13 June.
  • If you do not register, you will automatically graduate in absence. You will not receive your certificate until you have confirmed your postal address. You can do this if you log in to your RISISweb Portal.

Summer Graduation- Ceremony Moves and Ceremony List

Please follow this link to view the July 2012 Finalised Ceremony List (184KB pdf).

Each year, in order to cope with the unpredictable and complex logistics of graduation, we warn all graduands and staff that we reserve the right to change the time of the degree ceremony to which their subject was initially allocated. Graduation ceremonies are planned on expected student attendance numbers. Whilst every effort is made to avoid ceremony moves, this year since the original schedule was planned we have had a significant increase in those wishing to attend.

In order to allow these students to graduate in person I am afraid we find ourselves having to move students in Law on the following courses:

  • PhD; MPhil
  • LLM Advanced Legal Studies; European Union Law; International Law and World Order
  • LLB Law with Legal Studies in Europe; Legal Studies; Legal Studies (taught in conjunction with Taylors University)

From the 5.00pm ceremony on Thursday 5 July to the 3.45pm ceremony on Thursday 5 July.

All other students will remain at the same time and date and the above ceremony schedule should be considered considered final.

We will be writing individually to the students and staff affected this week.

Summer Graduation - Registration

The extended deadline for students to register to attend is Sunday 13 May 2012. Please note: as the previous deadline to register has passed, students registering now will not be guaranteed two guest tickets (except PhD students).

Summer Graduation

The dates for summer graduation are the 4, 5 and 6 July 2012.

Invitations have now been sent to students expected to graduate in July. Students can register to attend graduation by logging onto their RISISweb Portal only.

Certificates for students who did not register will not be mailed until we have confirmation of a postal address in writing from the graduate. Please email your student number and date of birth, along with a postal address to graduation@reading.ac.uk.

Adverse Weather

If you have registered to attend your graduation, but cannot make it due to snow you must email graduation@reading.ac.uk on the day itself to notify us.

If you cannot make it because of adverse weather only and you would like information on attending a future ceremony please let us know. Otherwise students who do not attend on the day will graduate in absence and certificates will be posted to those who have registered in the new year.

Graduation Live

This year, family and friends across the world can watch you graduate live over the internet. All the ceremonies will be streamed live onto the web on Thursday 15 December and Friday 16 December 2011.
