'Why My Research Matters'

Friday 22 April, University of Reading

We are pleased to announce a CfP for the upcoming medieval and early modern workshop "Why My Research Matters". An informal workshop held by the University of Reading on the 22nd April, aimed at encouraging postgraduate researchers, at all stages of their degree, and early-career researchers to come together to present their research and highlight its relevance in the 21st century.

Historic studies, and particularly those focused on pre-modern history, are often challenged about their relevance and the reason for their study. Within an informal environment this workshop offers a chance to present your work - be that a fully-formed paper or a more exploratory questioning of your research topic.

Themes for exploratory papers could include:

  • The types of methodology you use
  • Your experiences with archives and sources
  • Using your research interests for teaching and/or winder engagement

For full details, please click here.

If you are interested in applying, please contact the organisers with your proposed title and an abstract of no more than 200 words via by Friday 29 January 2016.
