Surveying and construction graduates from the University of Reading are held in high regard by employers, who believe they have the potential to become the leaders of the future.

Our international reputation and close relationships with industry and professional institutions, makes our graduates highly sought after in the workplace. The latest Destination of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (2015) shows that:

  • 100% of undergraduate students from the School of Construction Management and Engineering were in work or further study within six months of graduation.
  • Of those in full-time work, 97% progressed to professional or managerial roles.

You will have the opportunity to enhance your employment prospects and gain direct contact with potential employers through our industry placements.

To further enhance your employability, the University of Reading offers a Careers Advisory Service and the Reading University Construction Society also offers networking opportunities.

Prime location

We are located in the South East of England, just 35 minutes from London and with excellent connections to airports and transport hubs. Our close proximity to London means you have easy access to a huge, global construction market. You are surrounded by multinational employers and fantastic examples of construction, architecture and infrastructure.

As well as being so close to London, Reading is a student-friendly, award-winning campus university, set in 130 hectares of beautiful parkland with our scenic lake, woodlands and the celebrated Harris Gardens. In 2016 our Whiteknights campus received its sixth consecutive Green Flag award as one of the UK's best outdoor spaces.
