Application of Technologies
Case studies:
Below we present some examples of applications to which BioCentre instruments and expertise have been successfully applied. The case studies are necessarily brief, but reflect the range of research interests of BioCentre users at UoR. Further information can be obtained by contacting the research teams or BioCentre staff involved. We will continue to add examples as pieces of work are completed.
Analysing the phytochemical composition of edible plants
Determination of 3D protein structure
Characterisation of plant tannins
Investigation of possible toxicogenomic effects of pesticides
Identification of inhibitory peptides from a complex mixture
Quantification of DNA methylation using the Agilent 2100 BioAnalyzer (internal)
Quantifying protein:protein interactions
Binding kinetics of an RNA binding protein
Detailed analysis of protein:ligand interactions
