About us

The BioCentre was formally launched in 2005, and represents  the University of Reading's first research-platform, offering a range of 'genomic' and 'post-genomic' services. We are located on the main University campus (Whiteknights), in close proximity to research groups in the Faculties of Science and Life Science.

With modern facilities, our tools and expertise are particularly applicable to 'proteomic' investigations, namely protein identification and advanced protein characterisation. However, as listed in brief below, our capabilities extend much beyond this.

Our mission, in providing access to such instruments and expertise, is to enable Reading University colleagues to significantly further their research through multidisciplinary approaches using advanced technologies.

Furthermore, we successfully offer such services to external Universities, Institutes and Companies (see External Customers )

Our intention is to offer an efficient service based on technical expertise, a fair charging structure, a fast response to enquiries and close interaction with customers.
