Celebrating our Alumni
Since 2008, the University has recognised one of its alumni for their successes in their fields with the annual 'Alumnus of the Year' award. The award is conferred during one of the University's momentous graduation ceremonies.
In 2016, as part of our 90th Anniversary Celebrations, we extended our awards to include more categories, in order to expand our recognition to those alumni and supporters who work with us to make a difference.
2016 award winners were: Helen Rugman (Donor of the Year); Tim Brownstone, BSc Animal Science 2013 (Entrepreneur of the Year); Bryan Laxton, Real Estate and Planning, Land Management 1981 (Joint Volunteer of the Year); Neil Poole (Joint Volunteer of the Year) and Geoff Botting, BSc Cybernetics and Control Engineering 1967/PhD Physical Sciences 1972 (Special Recognition).
