Daniela La Penna
Lecturer in Italian
Her main research interest is modern Italian poetry,
especially the interplay, central to the development of the late 19th- and
20th-c. Italian lyric, between tradition and experimentalism with form and
language(s). Her interests also include the reception of Guido Cavalcanti’s work
in 19th-c. European poetry, poetic translation in 20th-c. Italy, and Italian
cinema. She has written on Marinetti, Amelia Rosselli, poetic translations, the
fantastic genre and Anna Maria Ortese, and contemporary Italian cinema. She is
currently working on a study of Amelia Rosselli’s poetry and prose.
