These fragments of late 19th century glass indicate that this trench was dug by the Victorians. The glass ware is similar to some found in the Victorian rubbish pit excavated in 1997. They are fragments of Victorian pop bottles! More information on the Victorian bottles found in the rubbish pit can be found in our on-line publication of the Victorian excavations.
